Orlando Signs USC’s Tahj Eaddy as Undrafted Free Agent

As an NBA Draft Prospect, one of the worst feelings you can have is going undrafted after giving it everything in college. Unfortunately, this was a short reality for USC alum Tahj Eaddy. Luckily for Eaddy, the Orlando Magic have given him a chance to prove himself after signing him as an undrafted free agent. Eaddy will take part in Orlando’s Summer League roster, along with fellow rookies Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner. Eaddy will have the four Summer League games to make his mark. Orlando’s first game is on August 9th against Golden State. In his only season with USC, Eaddy averaged 13.6 PPG, 2.9 RPG, and 2.8 APG in 32.3 MPG. Eaddy had his best shooting splits, too, going 44.6% from the field and 38.8% from downtown. Eaddy will join a crowded backcourt in Orlando with Markelle Fultz, Cole Anthony, R.J. Hampton, and Suggs.

After starting his collegiate career off at Southeast Missouri State, Eaddy decided to de-commit and join Santa Clara for two seasons. With just one year of eligibility left, Eaddy took his talents to Southern California, in hope to raise his draft stock. Eaddy did just that, as he contributed to USC’s run to the Elite Eight. Eaddy’s solid season was rewarded with him earning a spot on the 2020-2021 All-Pac 12 team. Eaddy has plenty of time to develop his potential as a 3-and-D wing player in the G-Leauge. Hopefully, Eaddy will get the playing time to do just that. New Head Coach Jamahl Mosley could certainly help develop the 6’2″, 165 pound Eaddy. Despite this, Eaddy will likely provide most of his services on the Lakeland Magic, Orlando’s G-Leauge Affiliate.
