Tom Brady To Be Madden Cover Athlete But There’s A Twist

When you think of Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes, you probably look back at some of the amazing duels that have taken place between the two quarterbacks in recent years. From their first matchup in Foxborough to Super Bowl LV, the two stunning quarterbacks know how to put on a show. They’re the faces of the NFL, and to simply put it, the league wouldn’t feel right without them.

Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes Named Duel Cover Athletes

The same can be said about EA’s Madden NFL series, apparently.

While neither Brady nor Mahomes specialize on the video game gridiron, their talents on the field have earned them positions as the second-ever Madden duel cover athletes. That honor, which was previously only held by Troy Polamalu and Larry Fitzgerald, will give both quarterbacks their second appearance on the Madden NFL cover. Brady made his first-ever appearance in Madden 18, whereas Mahomes made his premiere in Madden 20.

Obviously, things are a bit different this time around. For starters, Brady no longer resides up north in New England. He’s a Buccaneer and member of the beautiful Sunshine State. Mahomes, meanwhile, has joined Brady as a Super Bowl champion since he first appeared on the cover a few years ago.

So, it’s safe to say a lot has changed in recent history.

Brady’s Thoughts on Sharing the Cover with Mahomes

One thing that hasn’t changed is Brady’s admiration for the young Mahomes. When asked about the opportunity to be on the cover with the SB54 champion, Brady expressed a sense of excitement. As the seven-time Super Bowl winning quarterback stated, “So it’s a really cool thing. It’s definitely a huge honor, and getting to do it with Patrick and the career he’s had has been exceptional.”

Madden NFL 22 will hit the shelves later this summer on August 20th. As always, fans should expect both quarterbacks to earn high ratings.
