With six straight losses behind them, the Orlando Magic finally were able to halt the losing streak with a much-needed victory over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night. The Magic dominated right from the jump, not relinquishing their lock, even without several players playing due to injury. They dominated, leading by nearly 20 at one point, despite the returning performance of former Magic player Nikola Vucevic. A fourth quarter attempt at a rally by the Bulls was not enough and they took the loss, 115-106, although the game was a lot further out of reach than the final box score may tell you.
Notable Players
Despite a heavily depleted, almost tanking roster, this was an all-around team performance for the Magic. Forward James Ennis had the star performance of the night for Orlando, as he finished with 22 points and 4 rebounds, on 8-of-12 shooting. Center Wendell Carter Jr. set the pace of the game with a team-leading 12 rebounds to go along with 19 points. Guards Gary Harris and Michael Carter-Williams scored in double-digits as well, along with dishing out the ball with precision, with nearly 10 assists between the two. Off the bench, Orlando continued to get stellar guard play from Cole Anthony and Terrence Ross. Overall, it was a terrific night for the Magic, shooting nearly 50% from the floor as a unit.
For their opponents, the Bulls did not have as good of a night. Only three players scored in double digits, as Zach Lavine had a great night while he attempted to play savior of the team with 30 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds. Center Nikola Vucevic also had a good night against his former team, with 29 points and 11 rebounds. Lastly, Center Daniel Theis scored 17 points and 6 rebounds from off the bench.
