Will Fuller Signs One-Year Deal With Miami

The Miami Dolphins have signed speedster and talented wideout Will Fuller to a one-year deal worth more than $10 million. According to PFF, the 6’0 deep threat had an 86.2 PFF Grade in 2020, which was 9th out of all wide receivers.

Breakdown

Will Fuller is one of the fastest receivers in the NFL. While only 26 years old, many defenses have already made note of his tremendous ability to stretch the field. Last year was a career year for Fuller, mostly due to the fact that it was his first time not playing second fiddle to DeAndre Hopkins. Last year, Fuller boasted 879 yards on only 53 catches with 8 touchdowns (11 games played). This looks impressive, but the Texans offense was much scarier with Fuller in the #2 WR spot. Obviously, Hopkins is one of the best in the league, but with Fuller’s ability to burn somebody at any moment, he was just as much of a threat.

So what does all of this mean for the Dolphins? Well, the best scenario would be to use Fuller as your #2 guy. DeVante Parker has loads of potential as the feature receiver in Miami. That being said, if Parker could start putting up numbers similar to the ones that he did in the 2019 season, then this could be one of the top Wide Receiver duos in the NFL. Jakeem Grant and Myles Gaskin will still have their roles in the passing game, but Fuller will take a lot of the responsibilities as the token “fast guy”.

Conclusion

The Miami Dolphins added their much-needed speed element opposite of DeVante Parker. But Will Fuller will not be eligible to play in Week 1, as he will be serving the final game of his six-game suspension.
