Buccaneers vs. Packers: NFC Championship Preview

After a win over the Saints, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will now face the Green Bay Packers. The Packers lead by Aaron Rodgers, finished 13-3 in the regular season, the best record in the NFC. Aaron Rodgers, who was on the decline last year, is now the favorite and pretty much the runaway to win MVP as he tries to clinch his first Super Bowl appearance since the 2010-2011 season. Brady on the other hand, is trying to make his 9th Super Bowl appearance, the first without Bill Belichick.

Injury Report

Antonio Brown who has a knee injury and did not practice at all this week, will be the only major Buccaneers injury on Sunday. This will be a huge loss for the Bucs as Brown has been a big target for Brady through the season and has provided some footing for a loose Bucs team this year. The Buccaneers have a few players who have some nagging injuries and were limited in practice. However, they all look to be good to play against the Packers. Speaking of the Packers, they also have one injury and that is Defesive Lineman Kingsely Keke who suffered a concussion against the Titans.

Chris Godwin

After a breakout year last season for the Buccaneers, Godwin has had a tough year. Tom Brady’s arrival may have signaled more passes and receiving yards for Godwin but that has not been the case. Instead, the Buccaneers signed Antonio Brown to help lead the passing game with Mike Evans. This has kind of shoved Godwin out of the picture as the Bucs headed into the Playoffs. With Brown injured for Sunday’s matchup, Brady is going to rest on the shoulders of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. The only way the Bucs can beat the Packers is for Godwin to have a big game. There is already trade rumors of where Godwin is going when this season is over. If Godwin wants to stay in Tampa, then his future will rely on a big game Sunday.

Aaron Rodgers

2020 Buccaneers of the Week: vs. Packers - Bucs Nation

Like mentioned earlier, Aaron Rodgers is having a great season and is the heavy favorite to win MVP. He has 48 passing touchdowns leading the league, and only 5 interceptions thrown this year. But 2 of those picks have come against the Bucs when these two teams played earlier this year, with Tampa winning 38-10. In the 38-10 loss for the Packers, Rodgers only threw for 160 yards on no touchdowns. Also, RB Aaron Jones was held to only 15 yards while Devante Adams was held to 61 yards. The Packers are obviously looking for a much different result, in the NFC Championship game.
