Breaking Down Each Florida CFB Team’s 2021 Recruiting Class

In this article, we will take a deep dive into each of Florida’s college team’s and their recruiting class from 247 Sports’ rankings. We will look at the Top 5 players from each Florida recruiting class, as well as what each class is ranked in College Football.

#10 in Nation, #1 in Florida: Florida Gators

Florida cracked the Top 10 in the nation with their recruiting class. The Gators managed to get one 5 star recruit, CB Jason Marshall out of Miami Palmetto High School. Jason is the 2nd ranked CB in the nation, and is the 8th ranked recruit in the state of Florida. Jason has the ability to make a play anywhere on the field with his quick feet and agile speed.

Here are the Top 5 recruits for Florida:

  2. Jeremiah Williams: 4 Star DE
  3. Tyreak Sapp: 4 Star DE
  4. Corey Collier: 4 Star S (High School Teammate with Jason Marshall)
  5. Carlos Del Rio-Wilson: 4 Star QB

Florida has a total of 25 recruits, as well as a transfer from Clemson, RB Demarkcus Bowman to round out the recruiting class. Florida has the 5th best ranked recruiting class in the SEC.

#11 in Nation, #2 in Florida: Miami Hurricanes

Just behind the Gators, the Canes landed at #11 in the nation for their 2021 recruiting class. Weirdly enough, the #1 recruit of Miami, is also a teammate of the Gators #1 recruit at Miami Palmetto HS, 5 Star DT Leonard Taylor. Leonard is the highest ranked DT in the nation and is the 3rd ranked recruit in the state of Florida. Additionally, the Hurricanes landed another 5 star recruit, S James Williams. James is the top ranked safety in the nation, standing at a humungous 6-5. To round out the class, the Hurricanes landed 4 Star Pro-Style QB Jake Garcia.

Miami has a total of 21 Recruits in the Class of 2021.  Their class ranks 2nd in the ACC.

#23 in Nation, #3 in Florida: Florida State Seminoles

Seminole football is trying to be turned around by Mike Norvell, and a solid recruiting class is the first step to turning a college football program around. Five 4 star recruits make the Top 5 of this class. Furthermore, they also have 3 incoming transfers, all of which were 4 star recruits going into college. FSU’s top ranked recruit, 4 Star CB Hunter Washington, is the 19th ranked CB in the nation, and the 39th ranked recruit in the state of Texas. Their 5th ranked recruit, 4 Star DT Rod Orr, is absolutely massive at a whopping 6-7 and 296 lbs.

Florida State has a total of 16 commits, as well as 3 transfers. Their class ranks 5th in the ACC.

#61 in Nation, #4 in Florida: Central Florida Knights

We’re going to take a huge jump to the not so prestigious schools. UCF’s top recruit was 3 Star DT Anthony Hudley, out of IMG. They also got one transfer from UVA, 3 Star QB RJ Harvey Jr.

  4. Jaylon Griffin: 3 Star WR
  5. Ethan Mort: 3 Star OT

Central Florida has a total of 20 recruits. Their class ranks 4th in the AAC.

#68 in Nation, #5 in Florida: South Florida Bulls

USF’s class was a big improvement from last year. They ranked 109th in the nation last year, and bumped up 41 spots. They got one major transfer, swiping a 4 Star CB from Miami, Christian Williams, as well as two other 3 Star transfers. The top recruit is Gunner Greenwald, the 6-5 3 Star TE. He’s the 50th ranked TE in the nation, and the 120th recruit in the state of Florida.

  4. Jimmy Horn Jr: 3 Star WR

South Florida had a total of 21 recruits. They rank 5th in the AAC with the Bulls’ recruiting class.

#72 in Nation, #6 in Florida: Florida Atlantic Owls

FAU continues to be at the top of Conference USA, but that’s not that big of an accomplishment, considering C-USA is one of the bottom conferences in the FBS. FAU’s top recruit is Amari Wansley, a 3 Star Safety. He’s the 109th ranked safety in the class of 2021, and the 117th ranked recruit in the state of Georgia.

  4. Julius Barfield: 3 Star DE
  5. Jacob Merrifield: 3 Star DE

FAU had a total of 24 commits, ranking first in their conference. The number of commits FAU got is significant considering they are in Conference USA, a lesser division.

#94 in Nation, #7 in Florida: Florida International Panthers

By far the worst FBS team in Florida, as they are towards the bottom of the FBS rankings. They are actually decently high in their conference, but only because their conference is just not very good. The Panthers top recruit, is Demetrius Hill. Hill ranks as the Top 78 safety in the nation, and the 124th recruit in the state of Florida. They did get two transfers, and one was a 4 Star recruit coming out of high school, Savion Williams. He spent last year as a DE at Tennessee.

FIU had a total of 16 commits. They ranked 5th in Conference USA (C-USA).
