Trevor Lawrence Leads the Jaguars to their First Victory in Nashville Since 2013

The Jacksonville Jaguars went to Nissan Stadium in Week 14 and beat a divisional rival, the Tennessee Titans, 36-22.

Both the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars were coming off embarrassing losses in week 13 and were looking to bounce back. The Titans played the previous week in Philadelphia and lost to the Eagles 35-10, and scored zero second-half points. The Jaguars played the previous week in Detroit and lost to the Lions 40-14, and had their worst defensive performance of the season.

The first two possessions of the game felt as if the Jaguars were in for a long afternoon after the Titans scored on their first drive, and the Jaguars proceeded to go three and out. Jacksonville responded in a big way after being down early. The number one overall pick in this year’s draft, Travon Walker, got a strip sack on Ryan Tannehill, which led to great field position and a Jacksonville touchdown.

To close the first half, Trevor Lawrence led the Jaguars 78 yards to take a 20-14 halftime lead with a 20-yard toe-tap touchdown pass to Zay Jones.

Jacksonville continued to dominate the second half as they opened up on their first drive, going 12 plays, 72 yards, capped off by a Trevor Lawrence one-yard stiff-armed touchdown run. The Titans would cut the lead to a two-possession game with 7:15 remaining left in the 4th quarter with a score of 36-22, but it was too little too late. Jacksonville took care of business to close out the game and got their first win in Nashville since 2013.
