Dolphins Acquire Bradley Chubb and Jeff Wilson Jr. at 2022 NFL Trade Deadline

Ladies and gentlemen. The Miami Dolphins are going for the big buck in 2022.

The Dolphins are receiving former Denver Broncos and Pro Bowl pass-rusher Bradley Chubb in a package that includes a 2023 1st round pick (via SF) and RB Chase Edmonds.

Chubb was drafted fifth overall by the Broncos in 2018 out of NC State, where he was nominated with multiple awards his senior year. He led the team in total tackles (72), tackles for loss (23) and 10 sacks his senior year. He was the 2017 ACC Defensive Player of the Year, 1st-team All-ACC, 1st-team All-American, the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, and the Ted Hendricks Award winner.

Chubb came on to the Broncos in 2018 and made himself known early, recording 60 total tackles (41 of those solo) and 12 sacks. He won NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2018 and got selected to the 2021 Pro Bowl.

He joins a Dolphins front-seven that includes Melvin Ingram, Jaelan Phillips, Elandon Roberts, and Jerome Baker.

Also, the Dolphins traded a fifth-round pick to receive 49ers RB Jeff Wilson Jr.. Wilson, who already has a connection with Head Coach Mike McDaniel, now forms a great 1-2 punch alongside Raheem Mostert, who is also a former 49er.

Wilson was undrafted in 2018 out of North Texas, and had a breakout season in 2020, rushing for 600 yards and seven touchdowns. He was having a great season this year, too, with 92 carries for 468 yards and two touchdowns.

Since the Dolphins traded the third overall pick in 2021, all three picks have been used to land stars. In 2021, the Dolphins used their pick on Jaylen Waddle, in 2022, the Dolphins traded their pick to get Tyreek Hill, and in 2023, Miami traded their pick to land Bradley Chubb. Grier surely cooked it up.
