The Tampa Bay Lightning now find themselves down 2-1 in their first round series as a result of the Toronto Maple Leafs’ 5-2 2 win in Game 3.

The first period saw Toronto come through and take control of this game early on. Morgan Reilly opened up the scoring early on in the first to give Toronto an early lead. Later in the frame, Colin Blackwell scored his first career playoff goal to put the Leafs up 2-0.
Toronto wasn’t done there. In the second period, Toronto opened up the scoring with David Kampff scoring his second goal of the playoffs. It wasn’t long after that that the Bolts would score their first goal of the game, on the power play by Ross Colton.
Tampa went into the third looking to even things up. They opened scoring in the frame with Ondrej Palat scoring, but beyond that it was all Toronto. Ilya Mikheyev scored two empty netters, both of which were his first career playoff goals to help the Leafs secure the 5-2 win.
In a losing effort, Andrei Vasilevsky went 31-34 with a save percentage of .912. Jack Campbell was unreal for the Leafs going 32-34 with a save percentage of .941.
