Miami Drops First Two Games to Milwaukee

The Miami Heat were unable to even the series in Game 2 on Monday night. The game never really was in question for the Milwaukee Bucks. Giannis came out swinging early in the first half, taking control and never relinquishing.

Notable Playoff Performances

Giannis led the way for the Bucks with 31 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and three steals. Simply put, it was an overall great performance by the reigning MVP and Defensive Player of the Year. Bryn Forbes was scorching from behind the 3-point line making 6-of-9 shots for 22 total points on the night. Pat Connaughton also shot well, making 5-of-9 from 3-point range for 15 points on the night. Jrue Holiday also had a fantastic game, scoring a double-double with 11 points and 15 assists.

On the other side of the ball, things were much different for Miami. Dewayne Dedmon led Miami in scoring with 19 points and nine rebounds. In addition, Goran Dragic had 18 points and Bam Adebayo had 16 points. However, both Jimmy Butler and Duncan Robinson scored 10 points each, something both are going to want to improve on.

Key Takeaways

Compared to last year’s series, the tables have definitely turned. With the recent roster changes for the Bucks, it seems as if their regular season has suffered but their playoff roster improved drastically. The new additions and moves have allowed the Bucks to become a more dominant defensive team with less holes on the offensive side. They addressed a major issue in play-making by bringing in Jrue Holiday. Also, P.J. Tucker brings a much-needed 3 and D veteran leadership presence to give Milwaukee an edge. This rebuffed roster might be just too much for the Heat this year.

However, with all that being said, no one should count out the Miami Heat just yet, as they are only down 0-2 in the series. The Heat are a tough, battle-tested team that will not be easy knocking out.
