Following Florida’s 2-1 series win vs. Tampa Bay, the Panthers head to Raleigh to play the Carolina Hurricanes, who are undefeated at home this season.

Florida Panthers

The Panthers will be missing Noel Acciari once again, as he is listed as out (upper body). Chris Driedger will start in net for Florida on Wednesday night. Driedger is 1-0-0 against Carolina, with a .955 save percentage. All time, the Panthers are 50-50-24 versus the Hurricanes, but 11-33-2 in the last 46 meetings in Carolina.

Coach Q on Dreidger getting the start against the Canes: “He earned the opportunity to get back-to-back games based on his performance.”

Some good news for the Panthers: Gustav Forsling will return to action on Wednesday night.

Coach Q on the upcoming battle against the Canes: “Another good test. Carolina’s playing extremely well. They skate and they work and they can make plays. They have a lot of skill on their side here… Let’s make sure we check well and manage the puck.”

Carolina Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes look to stay hot after winning nine of their last 11 games, including 3 straight.

Vincent Trocheck will face his former team for the first time since getting traded. Trocheck, who was a former All-Star with the Panthers back in 2017, takes a four-game point streak into the meeting.

“I’m definitely looking forward to playing them,” Trocheck said. “It’s going to be a little weird, but once you get on the ice it’s just hockey.”
